Tip: on iPad, tap Share → Add to Home Screen for full-screen use that also works offline. Next interval moves the clock to the next whole interval (e.g. 14:32 → 14:00) to match the rink clock. Keys: Space start/pause · N next interval · B buzzer · G goal horn.

How it works

The main screen

Main screen
  • Match time (top left): counts down from the match length, shown in tenths during the last minute.
  • Interval ring: the time left in the current interval. It pulses in the last 5 seconds, and the buzzer sounds and the screen flashes at every interval.
  • START starts the clock. While it runs the button reads PAUSE; after a pause it reads RESUME.
  • NEXT INTERVAL moves the clock to the next whole interval, to get it back in line with the rink clock: with a 1-minute interval, 14:32 becomes 14:00 and 9:01 becomes 9:00. It does not sound the buzzer.
  • RESET sets the match back to the start (it asks first).
  • Tap the team name at the top to choose another team.
  • BUZZER and GOAL HORN play the sound right away. Tap again to stop it.
  • The strip at the bottom shows our sponsors. Tap a logo for more about the sponsor. It fades out while the clock runs.

The GOAL HORN pad plays the horn with a full-screen light show. Tap the screen to stop both.

Full time

Full time screen

When the match time runs out, the end-of-match sound plays and the full-time screen appears. NEW MATCH resets the clock.

Settings: Match

Match settings
  • Match time and Interval: tap − or +, hold to go faster, or pick a preset.
  • Clock: count down (default) or count up.

Settings: Sounds

Sound settings
  • Choose the sound for every interval and for the end of the match: buzzer, goal horn or none. ▶ plays it.
  • Buzzer length and Volume.
  • Upload your own mp3 or wav to replace the buzzer or the goal horn on this device. Use built-in goes back.

Settings: Team

Team settings
  • Pick your team from the list to use its colours and logo. The teams in the list are fixed.
  • + New profile makes your own copy of the selected team: change the names, the five colours and the logo. Your own profiles are saved on this device only.
  • Share link for this team gives a link with the team logo in WhatsApp and other apps. Opening it starts the app with that team. When you add the app to your Home Screen, it uses the logo of the selected team.
  • Export for website (.zip) packs your profiles so they can be added to the app for everyone. Download / Load profiles.json copy profiles to another device.

Tips

  • On an iPad, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. The app then opens full screen and also works without internet.
  • Turn the volume all the way up. For a rink, connect a Bluetooth speaker or the PA system.
  • The screen stays on while the clock runs.
  • A phone call, a notification or another app can switch the sound off. The app turns it back on by itself; if the phone needs a tap for that, a yellow banner asks for one.
  • With a keyboard: Space start/pause · N next interval · B buzzer · G goal horn.
